What To Take On Safari With Us.

For those that have booked their safari or are close to doing so, the issue of what to take with you will crop up sooner or later. Here is a brief rundown of what we advise. What To Take : Your Luggage There is usually a pretty tight weight limit when flying internally within Africa, so if your safari will involve this (and most do) you should keep your main bag to no more than 12kgs in weight. It should be made of a soft pliable material (e.g. a ‘grip' bag), which will enable it to be packed easily in the various modes of transport that will be utilised. Some charter airlines may have an even lower weight limit than this, so please check with your consultant if you are unsure. What To Take : Safari Clothing  Most camps and lodges have a daily laundry service, so it is not necessary to bring too much clothing. Basically you need to aim for bush coloured safari outfits (i.e. green/brown/khaki, not cream/white/coloured as these show the dust very quickly!). In particular...

Our Types Of Safari Vehicles

COMFORT AND SAFETY OF THE SAFARI JEEPS : Just like most safari vehicles, Land Cruisers of jeeps of whatever type, are equipped with all possible safety features – including fire extinguishers, First Aid kits, seat belts and some have air bags. They have specially-designed fuel tanks to allow economical use of diesel during long journeys and snorkels for travel through rivers. Protection from the Elements : Being a closed safari vehicle, one is assure of relative protection against most types of external danger as well as weather elements like rain, dust and wind. PHOTOGRAPHY AND GAME VIEWING WITH 4×4 SAFARI JEEPS : Game viewing is from the open roof hatch. One chooses either to stand of the floor of the vehicle and pop their head over the open hatch and view animals (or take photos). Alternatively, one could opt to stay seated and view wildlife (and try to take photos) from the slide window. SEATING ARRANGEMENT : The short chassis version :  Can take up to 4 pe...

6 Kilimanjaro Climate Zones

ON KILIMANJARO YOU ARE GOING TO WALK THROUGH FOUR CLIMATIC ZONES, EACH WITH ITS OWN DISTINCT FAUNA AND FLORA. Some have analogized the climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro to traveling from the equator to Antarctica in just a few days. Temperatures can vary dramatically given differences in altitudes and times of day. Similarly, precipitation can vary from dry to damp to wet. Mount Kilimanjaro has six distinct climate zones. Each zone has its own unique weather patterns. In general, each zone is subject to decreasing rainfall and temperature as altitude increases. Let’s take a closer look at the six zones.
